... Cathedrals is often the life work of a few generations within families.No doubt the construction of such would have been pivotal for much community, religious and political power struggles.

So what of Cologne? I haven't researched this in depth but I would imagine that the French feel to the place stems way back to the roots of the Frankish Empire. Happy to be corrected on that...did I mention how good Steve Smith is going? Fair dinkum he will do ...

Friday 21 June
This morning Nicola, Olwen and I go into the village as it is market day, also we need some money so need to attack the ATM. Today is alos Sarah and Josh's last day of school before the summer break and also Steve & Maria Stephen's sister arrive from Frankfurt by train.
