We one time had a couple of days to spend at Mauritius, but because of the rowdiness of the students actions (they burnt down a hut, from what I’ve heard), we are no longer allowed to stay the night. Regardless, students get especially drunk while in Mauritius. It wasn’t the WORST port to get cancelled on us, but I still wasn’t pleased with this decision.

Now, buses in Mauritius are cheap at only about $1 a ride. However, they take forever to get where you want to go. They are not public, so there is no system, no schedules, no maps, etc. Even "express" buses zig-zag all over the place, seemingly taking the longest possible route. ... pulled up to Daddy Warbuck’s mansion. Fountain and all. This was no ordinary hotel. We walked in and immediately saw a wide-open view of the most gorgeous swimming pool overlooking a tropical beach pulled right out of a postcard. Our jaws dropped to the floor.
