... Stralsund. This is a Heritage listed Hanseatic town and well worth stopping at. Small and compact and an easy walk around. More huge churches, cobbled street, tall Hansa houses and two excellent street singers. We had a fantastically good sausage at a busy cafe where the locals were queued for meals. The weather cooler today and finally we had our warm clothes out of the bags. A cold wind off the sea. Back to the motorway ...

On Tuesday, we left Hamburg and drove to Malchow, via a medieval town, Schwerin, which had a huge castle. It was the former residence of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg. It was built in the mid C19, incorporating existing structures from the C16 and C17. There were even foundation remnants going back to 1000AD. We enjoy a couple of hours walking through the town centre before catching the boat back to our ship.

This is our last night so we enjoy our final drinks in the Avenue Saloon bar, that again has proved to be our favourite little drinking hole, before proceeding to the dining room for our last dinner for this cruise.

Tomorrow we will be arriving in Copenhagen and heading to Hillerod where we have a house swap for seven days.

    And sleep we did!
This was an easy day as we had room service for breakfast (coffee & Danish). Went to discuss the shore excursions and decided to keep the long St. Petersburg tour but did change the plans for Helsinki. We now will have a guided tour in Finland.
Took a break at the special coffee lounge at the ship's atrium. I was surprised that specialty coffees and water were an extra charge (but reasonable) even with the Dining Package. We did enjoy taking ...
