    ... drink, feeding or errand. We got lunch at a nice Thai cafe, which only seemed appropriate since we originally met in Southeast Asia. Dusseldorf is a nice town, big enough to be cosmopolitan, yet small enough to be manageable, and has both modern amenities and old world charm. It also is fairly pretty at the ground level with the river running through it and thousands of trees everywhere.

    Did our own self guided walking tour of the historic area. Past fountains, statues and majestic buildings, through ancient market squares, quirky streets, churches and the town hall, and into a brewery pub or two.

    Came across the equestrian statue of the Prussian King, Friedrich Wilhelm III of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress fame.

    We walked back up to the fun fair to finish out the afternoon, before heading back across the river on the ferry in search of a WC (water closet, bathroom) and dinner.
