... Nonnenweir and headed for Illhausern and Riquewhir, two wonderful Alsacian old towns along the famous "Route des Vins d'Alsace" Even though the auberge were we wanted to have lunch was closed for their holiday, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at an adjacent restaurant.

... the train roll (riding in windschatten) and make a good pace. We were fueled by delicious pears and apples from the old trees besides the channel.
At some point we (we as in Stef) even had to climb a tree to get down some really good looking apples.

We followed the channel until the "Plan d' Eau". A really big, lakey reservoir where it's forbidden to camp.

impressive, but our timing was just a bit off. The rest of Freiburg was
