    After a long and tiring journey we arrived at our campsite. Weather is lovely so went for an uphill walk in the evening. Just enjoying a beer in the bar now. Day by the pool tomorrow me thinks. Did a little reading by the van after breakfast and then dozed off. After lunch went and had a dip in the pool.     ... that day went up to a volcano lake called Lake Pavin. The roads were twisty and windy and mum wouldn't have liked it! We walked up steep stairs all around the village , found old ruins and a church , a market the day we left. Weather was fine but still a little cold . We then travelled on to Valliguiere .

    ... water sources bubbling up out of the ground. Again this was completely free of charge, although you were only allowed to take the Celestin water, the other 3 waters were only available with a prescription from the doctor…….however somehow we managed to gain entry to this area and tried all of the waters which were all equally as disgusting and ranged in temperature from 21.5 degrees to 41 degrees….ugh! This is the Roman Temple of Mercury which was discovered during the installation of a weather station and is now a major attraction in itself as we learned from the audio-guide in the exhibition centre.
