The hotel has great view of the marine, from the 5th and 6th floors. The rooms are basic, but the location is good. Breakfast was very good and exceeded our expectations.

A USAC classmate Neil Healy began his blog entry with the bold claim that "language means nothing." Its been a lovely day and at the moment Kerry is chief chef and has made rissoles without flour, as we have none and has just had to make do with whats in the cupboard. He has done a fine job. I have to tell you about French supermarkets. I start to salivate as I enter as there is so much choice and its all so delicious. So many cheeses, meats, salamis, ...

... just outside of the city in Camblanes. No wifi and no dishwasher! And definitely no English spoken. We made meals and generally helped out including a trip for lunch to Arcachon, a lovely beach resort only an hour away from Bordeaux where P and P have a very small studio apartment across the road from the sea. They have not been there in a few years, and they generously offer us the apartment when we are visiting and we are privileged to stay ...

... Friday, thank goodness the weather cleared up for the afternoon.

Ah wells, the ride was good, got to go along the beach and had a nice little picnic with my lunch...even say some French fighter jets fly over in formation! Then I was out! Not quite ...
