    The mountains are not really like any I've seen before. For starters, it's not easy to envisage their shape mainly because, as I said, they are largely covered in pines and assorted firs.     ... see much as the river is well below street level. Go through a loch ,now at street level, much better, not learning much - got more from Lonely Planet but is quite pleasant. Pass by "Petite France", smaller island where artisans plied their trades in the Middle Ages.Lots of parks and flowers. Decide to go there for lunch. Back through the loch, down this time, back to the dock and off to find our way to lunch.
