Amboise is in a good central location for visiting the chateaux of the Loire River valley. The Hotel Bellevue is in a wonderful location for sightseeing around Amboise. We had a very nice room with a terrace that we shared with 4 other rooms. Breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and they had a nice bar/restaurant. We found the hotel listed in the Rick Steves Guide book.

The Hotel Bellevue is about a 10 - 12 minute walk from the train station. After checking in we dropped our bags and headed into town to familiarize ourselves with the downtown area. Along the way we stopped at the TI …

Then we went back to the hall where we were the night before and had a New Year's Day party thing until 6 pm. I was so exhausted. I returned to school on Monday. Unfortunately, I have had to change families. It's a long story but I am much happier where I am going now. The Vice President of YFU France has temporarily ...

Justine got a candle and candle holder from the Australian candle store, Dusk. And Valentin an Aussie cap and little koala, as I had no idea what to buy him. The family were really lovely and I got presents too! I got some cookie cutters, 2 jigsaw puzzles of Paris and a horse, a book of horses (in french), some ...

I also noticed that yesterday, I walked past a lady on the phone and heard what she was saying and I didn't even realise until my friend pointed out, that she was speaking English!! I just assumed that I understood what she was saying haha. Anyway, Friday finally finished an now I'm on holidays. I don't have anything planned for then, I don't think. I hope to be able to do some Christmas shopping though. Merry Christmas!! Love ...

... a book and a half and spent the days resting. I think I might have to find a gym once I am 100% better as I eat too much bread, Quiche and pastries here with little to no exercise. Hopefully I will be back at school on Monday. And then the end of the week is Christmas holidays for a few weeks. Sorry there isn't much to say. I hope everyone is well. Love Hannah ...
