      ... restaurants. A 3 course meal with red wine and coffee was had for 14 Euros. Sitting outside we enjoyed the sunshine while viewing the valley and hills. Back home we did a walk through St Andre de Cruzieres admiring the town square and the simple styled church. 5pm and it was time for champagne on Geoff's newly tiled terrace and later our last evening meal before our move to Paris ...

      Wonderful to return. The Ardeche Gorge is magnificent, the colours, the light, the amazing views from the road along the top, which David took in his stride driving along (lots of 100 metre sheer drops) whilst I gripped the seat in despair.       First, I need to correct a gross error from yesterday. I'm sure the hydrologists were wondering about the Rhone warning level being orange and the locks restricting traffic. Well, my roommate Martin clarified that it wasn't the locks, it was that the water level was too high so bigger boats wouldn't fit under the bridges. SOR! I mean, DES!
