... wonder what the history of these buildings is. Built in the 13th Century they’ve seen a lot of changes and different owners. Now they house postcards and toy swords. Sometimes I wonder what of our daily lives will be worthy of the history books…
The next day Brain was well enough to cycle. Thankfully it was an easier day rolling through a nice flat valley with a killer tail wind. Another wine region there were vines all ...
... Around 3 am we decided to call it a night (I know, grandpa JerBear going home early, right?). I go back to my barren apartment (more like my cloister) and go to bed.
Overall, it was really nice to spend the week on my own, in a big city, with people that I knew. I felt very independent and I am going to miss it. But I can't complain, as I am leaving for India in a week. Next time you hear from me, I'll be a true Indian raggamuffin.
What a waste of a day...
Go to Nimes and the national parks people said..... we ended up at a campsite way out of Montpellier and the highlight of our day had been the supermarket!!!!
The national park was lots of farm type marsh land... not what we had imagined. Nimes seemed pretty and lots of well preserved Roman things but the traffic was a nightmare and too hard to park so we kept driving with a plan to go out in Montpellier that ...
... such a huge amount of confidence to travel around Asia. I know that Spain is a little more tame than Asia, but I know that now I can be alone and I will be okay. I had never been truly on my own and I was really scared about it, but now, I embrace the opportunity. I believe everyone should travel alone, male or female, just to see what it's like. This just may be the most liberating experience of my life...so far.
... I headed to Montpellier from Vias and got to Manus apartment where we ate dinner and had drinks. We played a hilarious game of jungle speed and a trivia game, keep in mind this whole weekend was French only, no English at all!! This night there were more people there too. Marie-Noel, Marielle and Didiouu. Drinks, dinner, games, hooka and dancing to good music was on the agenda. It was so much fun I can’ ...
Montpellier, Languedoc-Roussillon, France amberbogieAs we didnt get to a beach the day before, we headed for the south of France, to a place called Frontignan on the French Riveria. On first glance it seemed a little souless and industrial but we managed to find a hotel at last and explored the town. We discovered the beach was 7km of sand along a natural spit of ...
Frontignan, France gregdedman... for salads, for deglazing meat, for serving on ice cream or complementing other desserts. We purchased the raspberry and I'm sure we will wish we took with us the apricot, the fig and the strawberry that were also packed with flavour. Here we met two very lovely travellers from South Australia's McLaren Vale region, Sylvia Wade and Carolyn August. What a co-incidence as we had just 10 minutes earlier, been discussing the likeness of Central Otago and South Australia's Southern ...
Mi porto a ...
