... Silly Emily for once drove us right up to the entrance to the aire, which is also by a river under trees so it is very wet everywhere. However, for 5 euros per night we have a level gravelly spot with electricity so may have the heating on shortly. We are not planning on going out tonight and will just have to see what tomorrow brings.

Vannes is 13th century and has medieval ramparts and watchtowers and gates and there are beautiful halftimbered houses and buildings behind the townwalls. As we were only there for one day we took a mini bus trip which took us all around the old city and outside the walls! Afterwards we visited the Cathedral and visited one of the many delightful cafes eating patisseries! There is a lovely port area and the town has a great atmosphere also not ...
... there are so many beautiful places close by. We went to Vitre yesterday, into Fougeres today and found our way to the wine cave to buy some Vin rouge et Vin blanc ( French rural version of Dan Murphys). The vintner was rolling his eyes at his daughter and asked how long we were staying and even gave us a free bottle extra! Maybe French people don't usually buy as much as we did??

... did not have the correct connector for a water tap. So we went to a garden centre and stocked up on connectors and hose ends. We used the last one to connect our clear pipe to our blue pipe to reach a tap, so we need to replace that. And Sue gave us rillettes d'oel and I wanted to get some to take with us. Tomorrow we will go to Tours, the following day in Blois, followed by Orleans. Then Evreux or Dreux and finally Fecamp and Wimereux. Then it's the ferry home to ...
