A dull drizzly day, with a strong wind still blowing. At least we're on the Tunnel - not a good day to be on a ferry!

Ended up here agin after inspecting two other aires, both OK but a bit dirty underfoot and one had to pay. Le Hourdel is free and this time we managed to park on the edge of the beach with clear views across Le Baie du Somme. ... have been that it was a larger town. The information I'd been given about his headstone was accurate, and we located his burial site easily. This cemetery had been the community cemetery well before the war, with family tombs covered in names and memorials. In a separate section, crosses marked the graves of French soldiers and the occasional German one.

Rained all night, so packed the tent up wet.
