During the evening after a few drinks at the apartment complex bar, we went out to a restaurant and had a steak to celebrate Gilly's birthday. When we eventually left we got soaked wet through walking the 10 minutes back to the hotel.

... River is a beautiful turquoise colour and there are heaps of places to camp and go swimming and bush walking along the canyon. The countryside is so peaceful and like Switzerland the wildflowers were out and insects lazily buzz around. An uneventful day must travelling along the canal and relaxing. There had been bad reports of the moorings at Beziers itself, with boats being tagged, so we stopped at a village a few Kms short.
