... that people are still living in and walked around in the soft sand again. Had dinner in a great little Pizza shop where I somehow managed to get anchovies on mine…I guess that’s the fun of ordering food when you can’t read the menu or speak the language.

Now it’s trying for sleep with acorns raining on the tent. Oh the trails we face!

... what it was about 7 o’clock that brought such merry music? Clearly the bell-ringer had decided that this was the time everyone needed to be waking! It’s the little things like this that really make me smile. I know in the places I’ve lived in Canada this would never happen. Maybe a clock tower can chime out during the day, but not at night. I know some old churches that have to fight city by-laws just to ring their bells on Sunday ...

... chateaus that produced the area’s namesake after dinner spirit, I did stop long enough in the town’s center to enjoy a fresh lunch of croque chevre topped off with a sample of a Camus Cognac before getting back on the road for the five-hour drive to the northern coast of France. Unfortunately, due to a major accident on the A10, I was delayed (stopped completely) for over an hour en route, making my arrival in Bayeux just in time for dinner….

We'd been on the road four hours instead of 40 minutes and covered 250km.
There are definite lessons to be learned from this:
1. Do not bother if you have a lazy lunchtime chat first and can't hope to arrive before 2 or 3pm.
2. Plan at least three sites first, especially in a barge on wheels, as you might not squeeze into the first couple of aires you find.

Yarin cok uzun bir yol beni bekliyor.Sabah 9:30 gibi baslayacak yolculuk aksam 20:30 gibi bitecek. Bir de o saatten sonra oteli bulmasi var.

At least its in Cognac and I get to stay in St Martial, where you get classical music and home made cakes for breakfast. All that in a castle! I think I am going to regain all the little weight lost camping in Oz very very quickly as I am back to the routine of restaurant every day....

... renovated everything them selves and it's gourgeous very new england by the sea feel light and area in all nautral colours and fabrics you need to book well in advance to stay here as they are very bussy all year due to being open 5 years and in lots of magazinzes, papers and all guide books.A very relaxing place to stay a definate must.

Ekskursioon oli huvitavalt korraldatud ja giidi inglise keel oli väga arusaadav. Piletihind sõltus sellest, millist konjakit sooviti proovida. Kuna ma pole suurem konjakifänn, siis valisin 7€ variandi, kus pakuti suhteliselt "naistekat" konjakit, R valis aga kallima variandi (ca 19€) ja proovis palju vanemat marki, mis lõhnas juba teravalt ja mistõttu ma maitsma ei hakanud igaks juhuks :)

... though, the timing of my arrival did look bad, to be honest with you I think the maid did it (they didn't have a butler to blame.) But really I think the maid did it, she set me up! I cannot understand how the french are one of the least obese people in the world. Still trying to figure it out.... sorry was just thinking about it as I was writing, back to it...
