    Race Day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 10, 2015

Graham met another trathlete on the campsite and they decided to travel on the 7.30 bus into Geneva. An early start with number tattoos applied , sun cream on and pre race breakfast. I delivered them to the bus stop and went back to see if there was any other signs of life at base camp. Slowly the campers emerged and prepared themselves for the day ahead in the hot sun, We failed to get to the bus stop by 10am as planned so had to wait another half ann ...

... Could see Mont Blanc with its' snow capped peak. Also saw Chateau of Baron Adolphe de Rothschild built between 1858 and 1860. His son (I think) is living there but the property has been bequeathed to the City of Geneva. We also saw the beach - yes they call it a beach (fine pebbles) and it is built out into the lake near town. Has roped of areas for swimming and a tower diving board. Saw a couple of topless sunlovers soaking up the sun and ...

Today we head off in the snow on our next adventure to Geneva, momma is surprisingly doing quite well, and may actually be tiring me out, whew what a feat. We somehow can't seem to make it to bed before 2:30am, must be the copious amounts of wine and mountain air running through our bodies. Once at the main train station in Geneva we must navigate to our new accommodation, which happen to be our first couch ...
