A bit of back and forth reattaching the awning but we eventually cracked it! Then delish barbie of chicken and steak and bits before Sherlock Holmes movie and sleepy bed! Toilet breaks were enhanced by the beautifully clear sky and the very nearly full moon. Thursday The original plan for today was to visit the gardens in Villandry. But an annoyingly early wake up ...

We went to Abbaye de L'Epau on the outskirts of Le Mans. Jon volunteered to read (snooze) with Prego in the van whilst I looked around. Although very pretty, it took only about 3 minutes to see the abbey. What took the time was the various photo exhibits. ... but there aren't any. So there goes walking in, but we figured we'll just drive for once, even though it's a hassle with the awning. The supermarket L.Eclerc was huge! It was cold outside so we didn't feel too bad leaving Prego a little longer whilst we browsed. We did a "big shop" then headed back to camp. Lovely girl on reception spoke great English. We chose pitch 52 and Jon got set up in the rain whilst I sorted bits. Unlimited electric and water, free wifi ...

    A delightful place

... did a bit of shopping.

Another nice day but a bit cooler. We went up into the town to the bakers and the butchers where we got the most delicious meat. After lunch, we walked along the river bank to the lock. It is all very lovely and the houses opposite the Aire are to die for. It was very busy and we now know why we were told not to be too late getting there as you are at risk of not getting a ...
