Arrived in Vientiane. What a charming city laying upon the banks of the Mekong River. I've been wondering why it felt so familiar, and realized -- it's vintage Europe. The French were here for many many years as Laos was part of French Indochine until the 50's. Had the best french food outside of Paris last night... we're heading to Luang Prababang later today.
