We spent a lot of the day searching for a splint for Teri but we still can't find one so we'll stick with the homemade one I suppose. At least in our search for the splint, Teri and I had a lot of opportunity to explore the city together and I had to learn my way around with out taking the strassenbahn ...

... According to Tanya, the kids were complaining that they missed me while I was gone...pretty cute. She said it's the first time the kids have really gotten this attached to an Au Pair so that made me feel pretty loved. Yoni won the award though because he was smart enough to not come wake me up but as soon as he saw me his lips puckered up for kisses. I have to admit, as much as they drive me crazy, these kids are pretty freakin' cute.

Your care isn't going to be of the highest quality if you don't have private insurance but it's not going to be bad either, you will get what you need and you CAN have private insurance if you want. The healthcare system here isn't flawless but it is not a bad deal either.

... which was nice because typically we don't exchange more than 2 sentences in a day. Sitting down with all of the "members" of the household is always a fun lingual experience. Carla speaks Italian to me and I speak English back, yet we typically understand each other fine. Isidoro speaks to me in several languages and I only understand him when he speaks in German but I still have a hard time responding in anything but ...

From the beginning, it was agreat experience: I left my mobile
(business and private cell phone) at home not to be disturbed during my
trip.

In the train travelling to the airport, I met an older couplr, which told me a lot about Egypt - a good start to be informed...

... I could speak german. After that we wandered around the campus and had some lunch and then went to the mining museum. We went to a replica mine shaft and learned all about mining in the Ruhr area. I flew from there back to Glasgow, where I met up with Duncan and had a couple of quick games of pool and some beers, before almost missing my train back to Leeds! Oops.

... Amazingly, what was not traditional though, the toilets were free !!!!! Quite a few beers later, we stumbled away, found an Irish bar, got the scores and looked for food. The restaurants were not as fast at taking your order, or, giving you a menu !!! So we found a classy little number that was called Pork Pork. We did have some frites on the side with my knuckle of pork. It was good pork. The Germans really know and like their pork. We now needed to wash this food down with an after ...
