    ... unusual. The French are connoisseurs with many foods and wine but not the coffee we were accustomed with. I looked out the window this afternoon and walking through the car park was a man (a Billy Connelly look alike) with a crow sitting on his forearm!     ... who did not have a starter the restaurant supplied a small salad type starter - it was delicious. No one had anything too unusual tonight (eg gizzards or goat dung).     ... conifers. They were all stunning. One woman's husband died and she was required to wear white for mourning but she painted her room black, ceiling and all with little silver tears everywhere. I can't believe she loved him that much since he only bathed twice a year!!! This part of France is really beautiful.
