In total we have walked/ visited "seven!" xmas markets in Cologne,, the city has put on a magnificent show.. from the city centre..Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine River... to the riverside markets.. the visit to this city of one million plus has delighted us...
No hotel accommodation for us tonite.. the overnite train to Prague awaits !! All aboard...

... t understand every word, but I could comprehend enough not to have to resort to English to find out what was happening. I take the philosophical view that if you come out of it alive and no one was hurt, the worst things that happen on holidays always make the best stories. Seeing old friends again was the only redeeming feature of an otherwise disastrous trip. Düsseldorf is a nice city, but how can it be a Christmas market if it doesn’t sell proper gingerbread? ...
No more cakes for Del
A bit of a change of pace for our blog entries this time. For those of you who do not know, one week prior to leaving on our trip Del was diagnosed as having Celiac Disease. This means a gluton free diet forever. It is more than a mere fad diet or an intolerance - it must become a way of life.
Of course, this would mean a change for anyone but for someone leaving on a trip it has meant a lot ...
