The Netherlands! Rotterdam reminded more of Seattle than any other place I've been. For hundreds of years the Dutch have been carving canals all throughout their country to dry up the land. Spring is in full bloom here, so there's water, greenery, and animals everywhere. I saw a blue heron within minutes of arriving. Oh, the arriving is a good story. ... and just a short hop to Den Haag/The Hague. A wind tunnel as we exited the station and headed towards the town centre. Walked past the parliament buildings, statues, sand sculpting, Palace Noordeinde to reach The Peace Palace. Circumnavigated it, because we could, admiring the neighbourhood as we went. Noticed that the diplomats had to take parking where they could !
