Old friends and new

Erin is one of, if not, the oldest friend I have. We met in fourth grade and have managed to keep in touch over the years. I blame Erin. And this little girl I played tag with in elementary school is now a mother of an adorable little boy. She and her husband Mike had Alysia two years ago and we had a wonderful ...

Waste or Wonder?

We did a bird walk this morning at Veterans Oasis Park, a new reclamation project in Chandler. Reclamation meaning the end product of a waste water treatment facility.
We have a fish able lake here with limits and everything, a large wetland and an environmental education center on site.
Parks like this are an inspiration in the desert. Take a look at the pictures to see what I mean--would you guess it's genesis?

When you grow up ...

... for dishes like I had gotten from them 4 years ago that Charlie broke all but the bowls when he pulled into fuel station in motorhome and hit a ditch at a slant and all the dishes flew out of the cupboard and broke!! They didn’t have my same ones—that would have been too easy, but I did find a set that I like almost as well so now have dishes. Since leaving Ohio all I have had are the 4 bowls left from that broken set! You can eat most anything in a bowl!! Then home ...

... Ouzo out, before we headed to possibly my favorite bar/club since Ive been away. It was called Dos Gringos and was an open air bar with loads of lights and things hanging, a massive Jenga, other bar type games, dance floor, just a good time place, oh and it was 10 drinks for 10 bucks, ouch!!! Needless to say we were there till close before finding our way home. Although a brief stop it was lots of fun.

Starting point of our trip....

We started our trip from Tempe, Arizona (see how we currently lived there). Our goal was to find a new life and our destination was the south-west, southeast, and notrth-east sections of the United States.

So it was time to say our 'Good byes.'

... that did not work when we got them home!). Finally back home where Charlie did a good job of re-parking the coach into our tight space. Caught up on things here, got everything put back where it belonged and at 5:45 headed out for Someburros for a geocaching event. The food here is excellent- best Mexican I have had, and family owned with authentic ethnic food. We shared a polla funito and it was still almost too much food! But really good! We met a lot of new cachers ...

Going into Texas

... Hotel). Met a bunch of traveling Germans (there for the technology conference). They were filming a movie in the hotel next to the bar, so that was cool too. Not too much else going on there. Great time at Lyda's house (friend from Greenhills) and met her beautiful daughter Bella (so the name fits!).

Day 18 - Arizona State Apache Junction

... Back to the Castle and switch on the generator and make that cuppa and lunch. Then away we go backtracking the long straight road. We travelled out to Mesa (a city in its own right) and explored a museum that contained information about the dinosaurs and other relics from Arizona's history. Leaving that it was time to head home for a swim and some dinner, setup the Sat dish after last nights success to find we found "Euston we have a problem" it has something to do with re-configuring ...

MANY THANKS Mmmmm, eat. Mmmmm, sleep. So much hunger. So much tired. I'm in the process of gaining back the weight I lost (about 10 pounds) and catching up on rest. First of all, I want to thank all of you for reading. A writer without readers, is well, pretty lonely. For all I know, my messages ended up in some of your junk boxes (your loss!), but for those who did read, I appreciate all of the feedback--emails and otherwise. Second of all, I want to thank you for putting ...
