... was impressive to see the sheer size of some of the beer tents and know that they contained thousands of people, not to mention the thousand or so in each attached beer garden. From what we could see the crowd all seemed to be in good spirits and we didn’t see any violence going on, security were pretty tough and it was well known that they don’t tolerate any kind of bad behaviour - and god forbid you try to steal a stein or leave a tent with a beer in ...

Picking up where I left off travelling to Munich, 1 bus, 3 trains, a 1km walk and about 8 hours later I arrive at my hostel in Munich. Where Switzerland was all gorgeous and small hostels of wood Munich is big city concrete and all bustling with people.
