A good Hotel!

from A TripAdvisor User on 2005-08-30
I have been at the Hotel for a week, I had Room 208.

The room was quiet, the furnishings were of good quality and condition, the same applies to the carpets. The mattress was good too.

The room had a small fridge and safety deposit box. On the whole, the Hotel was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was very good.

The attention at the Office and the Restaurant was very good, people were courteous and helpful. I was generally pleased with the Hotel and I would certainly go back to it.

Good location-Clean

We spent a week here to go skiing in the surrounding area. There is a room where you can keep your ski equipment. A small pool is here-usually not in use. I had to laugh at the poster who mentioned the decor- Yep, pure 70's green/orange! But the beds had those lovely comfy feather duvets, room was clean, the lobby, bar, restaurant was more up to date with the times. We had half-board-breakfast and dinner. Both were fine. Staff was fine too. The hotel is right around the corner from the charming old city and a block away from the bus stop to ski areas. The train station is a short ten minute walk.

It was wonderful

I loved the Hotel Innsbruck. I would love to go back to Innsbruck and this is the hotel I would choose.

The non-enclosed shower was a problem, but the view, the location, and the superior staff made it a very nice place to stay. Also I loved the night sounds of the people on the street. It was an very pleasant experience for me.

I liked this hotel!

So far there is a positive and a negative review on the board. Let me set it straight.... The rooms are a bit outdated in decor, my room had ugly green carpeting and furnishings. But, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The view is key, get a room facing the mountains. The location is awesome too. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant that the hotel recommended to us for dinner was wonderful and within walking distance. Stay here if you want a comfortable, clean place with reasonable prices and a great view and fantastic breakfast. However, if you are looking for decorations like the Ritz Carlton, then don't. Personally that doesn't matter to me. I will stay here again if I come back to Innsbruck.

Hotel innsbruck in innsbruck!

I was very surprised reading the previous review. The hotel is confortable, and very close to the city center. Very good breakfast, rooms clean with pretty wood furnitures, receptionist gentle and speaking a good italian. we spent a great weekend.

4 stars...... How is that possible?

My family just returned home from our first European trip. We eagerly anticipated the experience booked through Trafalger Tours. The Hotel Innsbruck was a huge dissapointment! Our rooms were very worn with mismatched old furniture and clashing colors. The room was so compact that the bathroom door would open only 1/2 way before banging into the bedframe. The shower was NOT enclosed and it was impossible to use it without drenching the bathroom floor- no matter how careful we were. There was no air conditioning which made any mid day relaxing in the room impossible. It did cool off at night with open windows, however, there was NO privacy on the front side of the hotel with no shades to obscure a view into our room from the 2nd. or 3rd, floors of the buildings across the street. When the bars closed at night, the street sounds and overindulged bar patrons distrubed our sleep.

My son slipped when he steped out of his shower/bath and fell. The sink literally fell off the wall and shattered on the floor just missing him. The hotel manager's response was to ask for a credit card # so we could pay for the damage.. blank check I assume! My son could have been seriously hurt if not killed. Our tour director was able to encourage the hotel to claim the incident on their insurance. The next morning, as our tour group left the hotel, we handed postcards to the front desk for mailing to the USA. Curiously, these are the only cards we mailed that were never recieved.

The only positives that I can mention about this hotel, is that the location is superb and the morning breakfast buffet was hearty and had good variety.
