    Minor complications

    ... part. One, we wanted to be helping and ENGAGING with the kids considering this was our engagement project. Instead, we were sitting in the back of the class observing two days a week which wasn't beneficial to anyone. The other major issue was that we were told this was an arts based learning program and besides the art that they were yelled at for not doing correctly, the children have not been learning through art.

    24 Hours of Travel Later... HYDERABAD

    ... her apartment where I will be staying for the first week.

    Though I couldn't see much on the cab ride to her apartment since it was still dark, we happened to pass some big festival that people were still celebrating at 6am (!!!) and saw a huge fish-shaped office building.

    I am excited to explore the city later this weekend and start work on Monday!

    ... have been worked out for a month. Done and done.

    All and all, and despite the bathroom situation, it was a great day! I’m really enjoying this trip and getting into a more “local” India has definitely been an experience! Oh and PS, the food is AWESOME!!!! Local Indian dishes and the fresh local fruit is something I just can’t get enough of!

    I could write more and more, but I’ll save it for next time. xo Haley
