Vandaag reden we helemaal naar het puntje van Cape Cod, Provincetown. Er stond een poging tot whalewatching op het programma.

Na Yale University staat vandaag een bezoek aan een andere Ivy League-campus op onze lijst: Harvard. Cambridge ligt vlakbij Boston en zo komen we na een korte autorit bij Harvard aan. We volgen een gratis tour die gegeven wordt door Erin, een sophomore student. Ze neemt ons mee langs de belangrijkste gebouwen aan the Harvard Yard, oa de bib, kerk, …

... just kept explaining the we were from the UK which seemed to satisfy our audience.

Dried off, did a bit of long jump and then sat up in the Life guard's chair- it was about 6pm and all the lifeguards had left. The sun was cooling off but the wind was still up. As it happened the hollow tubes at the back of the elevated chair we were all crushed into kept catching the breeze and playing different notes- a really unexpectedly magic moment.

Headed home a bit windswept.

This morning we drove to Falmouth, about 45 minutes, to catch the Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Martha's Vineyard is primarily known as a summer colony, and is accessible only by boat and air. There are about 16000 permanent residents but over summer the population can swell to 100,000 or more.
