Going over a magnificent bridge over Mobile Bay you swing into Alabama and one of your first sites is the USS Alabama moored up with it's guns pointing at Florida! Stopped for photo op and then heading on got a little lost exiting Mobile but eventually found the right road - north! We left Robertsdale if for no other reason than to escape the constant gunfire from the shooting range nearby. Driving into Mobile reminded us of driving into San Francisco from the Bay Bridge, because it is approached by a bridge. Once we got into Mobile, we went into a tunnel to go under a shipping channel. ... and was just wearing my rain jacket. The rain found its way in and I got wet! So, I stopped around 3:30 and took a motel room. An hour later the rain had stopped and the sky beginning to clear. Looks good for tomorrow!
As I said I need my GPS, I turn it on and press the Icon HOME and it plans the route for me. Three days and I should be home :-) looking forward to my own bed.
