We walked the street and peered through old store fronts, many with old Superman memorabilia, photos and tchotchkes. The town reminded me of so many towns in Northern WI that at one time were small bustling communities but are now well past their prime. Eddyville, the seat of Lyon county, was settled around 1798 and named for the eddies in the nearby Cumberland River.

We woke up and enjoyed a relaxing breakfast on the deck of our Tree Cabin. (Nobody wanted to leave!) Packed up the car and headed out to do a trail recommended by the cabin owner.
