After a bike ride around Santa Fe, the Plaza, and the New Mexico capitol building, we packed up the trusty Highlander, checked out of our wonderful little hotel and hit the road. Rather than take the interstate to Albuquerque and thence to our destination, Rio Rancho, we drove the Turquoise Trail.

We had a really nice time in Rio Rancho. We got to spend some good quality time with Brian and Layla and found we didn't have enough time to do and see everything on our list. We did;

Once we got the address of where we were staying we headed over there to meet Claire’s Uni mate Cris. He introduced us to lots of people and the three dogs Hamilton, Bruno and Keddle. I informed them all I wouldn’t remember their names and it took most of the night for it to sink in. As soon as we had put our bags down we headed out with them loaded with water balloons and catapults. ...

NM which included stopping at a few wineries, looking at the high bridge over the Rio Grand Box canyon near Taos, looking around Taos, and having a perfect dinner on the patio at Rancho de Chimayo. This three week stay involved eating way too much fantastic food and we didn't even get to many of our favorite places. I think I gained about 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Next we are off to Las Vegas and Yosemite.
