... go to the IMAX and see 'Journey to the South Pacific', which was playing at the science museum in Balboa Park. We turned up there at 10.30am to have a play in the museum for a couple of hours before the documentary started. We got there at a good time as it wasn't long before the place was overtaken by screaming kids on school trips!

After drying off we drove on down to La Jolla, just on the outskirts of San Diego. The bus wasn’t showing up for a while (although the Google maps streetview car drove past me twice!), so I had to grab a $13 taxi back to the cruise terminal and get back onboard. ... all, San Diego has been a very relaxed experience. The weather improved on the second day and it was sunny and about 17C. Everyone here complains about the cold weather but to be honest I feel pretty lucky about having almost 20C in December!
It's definitely a nice place to live, although it makes a bit an artificial impression (they have plastic grass in the squares!). But at the end of the day it doesn't matter when you see the beautiful sunset on the beach....
