... walked along the Liebe weg where they built a small boardwalk out of wood from old shipwrecks. We stopped at a small Mexican bar/restaurant for a snack and a break from all of the walking. Then we headed back to the train to catch the 7:30 back to Braunschweig. We all slept, (or tried to sleep) and it was an interesting ride. I finally got back to my room at after 12 am. Then I talked to Dad on gmail for a bit but then he made me go to bed.
Bremerhaven, Bremen, Germany plcouttsiep... and the main market area. After looking at about 10 places to eat we finally decided on a restaurant. We walked in and waited to be seated only to find out that it was the type of restaurant (like most in Germany) where you seat yourselves, we looked silly. The meal was really good. I had Bremer Knipp, which is a speciality in the area. It was basically a patty of ground meat and onions and stuff overtop of amazing potatoes with tons of spices. We couldn’t figure out ...
Bremen, Germany plcouttsiep... this area seemed like a **** hole. It was dirty and of course dark and cold. So after a few blocks I headed back to the train station to sit around and wait to call Norbert, a guy who works for our company in Bremen. While sitting in the train station I realized I could charge my phone off my computer with a cord that wasn’t built for my phone, so that was nice. I also was able to people watch for a few hours and just listen to music. So what cool ...
Bremen, Bremen, Germany drunkendidierWhat can I say - I really love Germany and this little town is no exception. Actually stayed here a couple of nights mainly to catch up on emails and sleep. This is a cute little town that is most well known for its travelling musicians of Bremen which is a rooster atop the cat atop the dog who is standing on the donkey (apparently they were scaring robbers who invaded their house). They have a statue of this in the centre of town. Aside from this the town is ...
Bremen, Bremen, Germany alanna.holloway... is the same, we can all come together on common ground.
interesting to think about when just today our cross cultural mgt professor was talking about divisions in Europe. take for instance the conflict along the Serbian-Croatian border takes it roots from when Christian crusaders sacked Constantinople... nights like tonight serve as proof that with understanding, compassion and a little booze, the world might know peace.
... Listen to mostly CD’s, and Audrey’s ipod but occasionally the radio, which has a lot of US music, mostly bad hip hop and oldies. Although we did find one bluegrass station, German bluegrass was classic.
• The girls play computer games on their ipod or hand held solitaire.
• We try to figure out the GPS, her thoughts on routing and our driving.
• And of course watch the scenery and the world go by ...
Hiya, chums! We, the delightful Mrs. Gam and I, were walking downtown in Bremen today, Saturday, to the river. It is flea market day and the vendors pack the esplanade. Most of them were selling junk, but it was fun to browse as we walked up stream, away from the old city. As we exited the city limits we came upon the local dragon boat club having a meet. They appeared to have only six boats and many more teams. Boats ...
Bremen, Germany davy_gamThe man at reception of the hostel looks and sounds just like Dick van Dyke, and I've decided that I like him. And I feel confident that if a mysterious murder occurred here, Dr. Reception Man would solve it in a jiffy. All he is missing is a white lab coat.
I did a whole lot of nothing today, which was half of what this journey to Bremerhaven was about, so I guess it all worked out well. It ...
... roll too far so we both have been sleeping close to each other and i think if tonight is as cold snuggling will be involved.Bring on Berlin and the hostel. This morning we have started our site seeing of Bremen and our first stop was the Buerger Park and the town - now a quick stop to send emails and check accounts. Will update again after my birthday cheers for now.
Bremen, Germany reecoops77... really should go", she said, I'll be fine". Vivian was one of the first people I told about my dad so she could still make other travel plans to Suriname if possible. Viv however had now gotten used to the idea that she wouldn't make it and had turned in her vacation days and forced herself to get used to the idea of staying home. Now she had to get used to the idea of going after ...
