... After eating I finished all my booking for the Chiang Mai trip before meeting up with them. We chilled around Khao San road, ran a few errands, had lunch and ended up just relaxing by the pool at the hotel before packing up and heading to the train station. ... Mandalay! Since this was the end of the road for our drivers and car, they made sure we saw all the highlights in one day! And it was pretty spectacular. Only a few ruins in the city, everything we saw is mostly still in use today. We started off with Sagaing and Mandalay Hills. Forest covered and dotted with golden Pagodas, temples, and stupas. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular (see pics). On the back side of Sagaing hill we visited a monastery that had the ...

... at the bar and ended up staying there the rest of the night (Well til 11:30 in time for curfew! Haha) drinking and chatting. We sampled some of scorpions on the food market.. Interesting taste. They taste like fishy pork scratchings. They are v chewy. Had a brilliant night tonight and James and I have already been talking about how a month might not be enough.. If only we could change our flights ;) Night. ...
