... going on a boat later so we knew we would get a good view, but many were squeezing down steep steps down the cliff side to pass the feet 70m below, before winding their way back to the top. We were more fortunate and took our car to the other side of the Yangtze, boarded a small boat and occupied a plum position on the top deck to get a good view. Where the Buddah had been carved, three large rivers converge, ...

Today was our second day of Chinese culture and music classes. We learned even more than we did on the first. In our Mandarin class, we learned all about numbers. We are now able to count to 10, and build numbers up through the 10,000s. We also learned all about Chinese money. How to count it, how to say it, and how to spend it! However, the highlight of today's Mandarin class was learning a traditional Chinese nursery rhyme. The coolest part is that the rhyme is ...

The subway, by the way was spotless and very new. The only tricky part was actually finding our way from the subway exit to ...

greeted Lu Ling and a very surprised bunch of classmates and professors from my school, who were all, except for one, really surprised to see me there. The one professor who was not surprised was the director of their trip, who I had been in contact with before I left for China arranging this whole thing. He greeted me heartily with a hug and invited me to eat. I grabbed some food from ...

... safely at home with legit bicycles to mob around on through the SWUFE campus.

PS We rode our bikes to class today and EVERYONE stopped to stare at us. It is quite hilarious, especially since we have seats on the back of the bikes for others to catch a ride on. Often times the person on the back waves to the Chinese students for kicks and giggles. Ever heard the song "Stop and Stare" by OneRepublic? It pretty much describes us riding our bikes in China. ...
