... this mission to advocate for Lizzie and other people like her who rely on the generosity of others. I would like to be a part of more trips like this to educate/encourage public volunteerism. I am thankful I could be a small part of this team.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
We started our bike trip at the community college at 9:00 am and rode through steep hills, passes, we even had to carry our bikes through a wash.(a new term for me) A wash is a sandy area where water only is there when flooded. But this wash was a 1/3 mile trek through sand and cacti. for us. The start temp was 45 and it continued to get warmer and warmer as the day progressed. This was the 27th Tour de Tucson- so there were hundreds of volunteers and many stops to ...

Cindy and Gary came two hours later - we then put our bikes together. Kathy rented a Ford van for us to use on our own. So, the four of us cruised around a bit and then we went to the Tucson Convention center to attend a sponsor dinner( a tradition for the Tour De Tucson bike race).

The result is an incredible display of 1700's Spanish artistry and the oldest intact European building in the state.
After visiting Tumacacori and the Presidio at Tubac, we were amazed at the intricacy and vibrancy of the paintings and sculpture. This is a place much loved by it's people.
We found a nice park for an overnight stay. It has nice showers, wi-fi, cable TV, a heated pool and a hot tub. All for only $16.46 a night including tax. This is the cheapest park so far and definitely one of the best. It is getting warmer. Last night we swam in the outdoor heated pool.

Tucson, Arizona, United States samcool7/23/2007 Up early the next morning, we checked out of the motel and were at APC Trailers just before opening time, we thought. After about twenty minutes of waiting, I said, "it's Monday morning and I can imagine an employee showing up late, but this place looks like it employs more than one person and they couldn't all be late." There was a notice on the front door and I went over to see if it was announcing that they were closed for vacation or something. "No, it just says ...
