    ... were green and lush. We drove to Roscoe, IL and arrived late afternoon. I lived in Roscoe from 1965 - 1971 and again from 1973 - 1998. Amy and Sarah grew up in Roscoe.     Today we got up early and watched St. Louis when we woke up while we packed. I really enjoyed the film but we missed the end so that we could get the matar to the grey hound bus station. Well it's a **** whole! We were there half an hour early to check in but none of the machines were working so the queue was really long. We would definitely have missed our bus in the wait.     This is the train station, Grunewald, where the Jews were brought for deportation. The Jews were herded as cattle up the cobblestone road to Platform 17. They were crammed into train cars and transported to Auschwitz to be exterminated. This platform would be a bad place to find yourself lost at the train station.
