... couple, at the hotel Kath had booked for us on the internet. I was quite happy with my room, but Kath and Bob were greeted by resident mosquitoes and found their room dark and smokey that night. We walked into town and were amazed by the numbers of people around, and the busy night market.
But we are here in Luang Prabang at last, and must now find out why so many people recommended that we should include it and spend some time there.


Bus to Chiang Rai

... station, then caught a songthaew to hotel. Checked in and went for an explore, found a little local restaurant for lunch, wandered around a bit, back to hotel to rest for a couple of hours.

Went out later and walked to Clock Tower and watched the light show, then wandered around night markets, had dinner at night markets (fried prawns, calamari, vegetables etc). Bought some happy pants, fresh lemon juice, then back to hotel.

... off towards the 'Monkey Cave'. Arriving, we were both very happy to see a few monkeys running around. As instructed by our guide, we left our bag in the van and quickly took some pictures. Afterwards, we were able to buy some food (bananas) and feed them. Unfortunately we were not able to take any pictures of us feeding them as we put the iPad away.
