Set the alarm to hopefully wake up before the winery opened. On the trip back from the toilet I noticed the gate opened and the welcome sign out - damm! Back to the van I noticed a lay standing outside the main doors so I rushed back to grab some money and dragged Owen with to hopefully purchase some wine as a thanks. The border was only about 15 minutes away from Batumi and we arrived quickly. ...

After a few minutes we had already passed donkeys towing trailers, pigs and horses on the road, numerous old people just sitting in peculiar places or walking seemingly aimlessly through the streets and about 20 petrol stations and carwashes…no joke. Come to Albania if you need fuel or your car detailed!!! It is hard ...

Despite arriving in Bitola in the late afternoon, I only stayed until slightly after noon the next day. Cafe culture is really huge here. It was a weeknight and a weekday, yet the streets were packed in evening and again by late morning the next day. People are dressed to the nines! But given that so many people just sit and let the hours pass, even during weekdays, I'm starting to see some of the sad truth about that unemployment ...
