Als Tourist hat man dies alles fuer sich. <br><br>Philip II, Vater von Alexander dem Grossen, gruendete nahe Bitola die Stadt Heraclea Lyncestis die bis in die byzantinische Zeit eine bedeutende Stadt war, im 4 Jahrhundert auch wichtige christliche Stadt wurde mit einer Basilika, von der heute noch gute Bodenmosaike erhalten sind. ... city itself does has a number of old churches and a castle, they are very heavily renovated and kind of lose their authenticity. Nonetheless I dutifully walked the walk (one of the old churches, St. Ivan, which perches on a cliff on the lake shore, was the highlight of the walk), then bought a bottle of Vrance, a locally produced dry red wine, went back to the hostel and whiled away the afternoon with it and a siesta afterward, since I had been up since 0330.
