... After lunch the 5 of us went for a boat ride around Lake Garda which was beautiful. The captain even let each of the boys have a turn steering the boat which they thought was pretty cool. We were then going to go and have a look through a castle but it closed at 1pm! We didn't realize this and got there at 1.30pm. Oh well! We had dinner at the cafe downstairs from our hotel with John Daniela, and then when back to our rooms to pack up ready to head to ...

... but the kids loved it and even saw their favourite penguins of madagascar!!! Then all the boys went on the water log ride (not for me either!!) and the look on Luca's face was hilarious. They all loved it. We made our way around the park, stopping at different rides, sometimes having to take turns at Luca was a bit short for some. We all went white water rafting and I got drenched! Luckily it was 24 degrees and warm enough to dry off a bit. Nic, Brodie and ...

      ... the old castle
gates and another bar or two. At the end of a lovely day, we hiked
back to the hotel and sat on the roof top watching the sun drop in
the sky while drinking Prosecco. Our evening meal was in the pizza
restaurant near the hotel again. Unfortunately the friendly waiter
      was not there again.
      Having waited ten years
to see the Italian lakes, we were not disappointed. What a wonderful
      place.

... We looked at a few menu boards but were not really impressed
either way, being surrounded by tourists all trying to savour the
same atmosphere. We walked along a side street and immediately found
a much more attractive little restaurant, obviously a family run
affair with just the feel we were looking for. The food was
excellent – seafood pasta for me and rabbit tagliatelli for Jayne.
The evening stroll back to the hotel worked off our meal.

... remainder of the coast road offered greater views
although the scenery became less dramatic.

      Next stop was Lake
Iseo, a small cousin with a very different atmosphere again. A quiet
backwater seemingly only known to the locals. This was a place
where you could really relax away from the crowds. You could
almost see the entire lake from our position, which took some of the
mystery away perhaps but did not detract from the spectacle. ...
