As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
We are on our last day in Rimini, and we're both quite glad of it. Not that we haven't had a good time (though the hostel has been a bit rubbish).
The journey down here from Munich was a real slog! It took 8 hours, though that didn't really bother us too much. 8 hours of discomfort on a cramped Italian train however, that was what made it difficult. It was a compartment style train (6 seat per compartment, 3 on each side facing each other) which seemed great when we first sat down ...

... to check in the morning. Of course morning came and they had one room left but couldn't do it for any lease than 30euros more than the orignally wanted. Son instead of saving 30 we spent an extra 30 - oh well to quote Role Models don't ********* a *********ter...hillarous movie (and only one we've seen in months) by the way. Next day we toured all around Rimini which we expected to be like a jazzed up Miami but actually had a cool historic center and eclectic ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattj... There is the most incredible sheen to them; some are from the 3rd - 4th centuries AD, and yet they look like they were created yesterday. Pretty much everything else in Europe has been - as Mat so delicately puts it - "covered in cherubs and gilt!", and it's unexpected to find a place so untouched through the Renaissance.
Next time we will make a few days for this lovely town.
... the inside slot running an out so I started to sag on that when he came back to 2, who at that point had hooked up. I was shielded off the ball, hesitated then tried to time my hit on 2’s back as the ball arrived. I was a moment early for sure, I jarred him the instant before the ball got to him, causing it to bounce off him incomplete. I was sure that a flag was going to get tossed. But again I got lucky. I apologized to 2 on the next play, telling him I was ...
Milano Marittima, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mavsqb1... the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Theatre was weird, kind of in the middle of nowhere, a large basketball arena attached to some other massive, factory like buildings pretty ugly. The one big thing that really did stand out here were the audiences. It was like they were just waiting, nay longing, to be entertained and were clapping, laughing and dancing ...
Forli, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mamma-mia... photos and memorabilia of Rossi’s career and along with the other geeks we checked it all out. Across the road was the Official Rossi Fan Club headquarters and we strolled in to see his bike which he won the 125’s on and lots of career photos. We joined the fan club for 40 Euros each which gave us a t-shirt,cap and bumbag and keyring. The people there also gave us posters hearing we had come from Australia and been to the races. We were stoked ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy kasnsqueak... there all trialling new gym equipment and excercise classes. It was really interesting seeing how advanced the technology is (especially compared with the gym I went to in Australia). There was even a weights machine covered in crocodile or snakeskin, and another machine that you could plug your USB memory stick into (but I'm not sure what for). That night we had dinner - cooked by one of the boys and absolutely delicious, and then went out to this place called Rock Island ...
