... shopping. We bought ourselves some Murano glass cherries, a tribute to Young and Zoe bought herself a lovely small aqua leather handbag-very gorgeous. We saw Saint Mark's Square and just the outside of the Basilica as the queue to get inside was enormous. ... and it was actually quite bumpy out in the open waters. Of course Lewis was asleep, but the boat was tiny and he didn't slow down when another boat when past! At the airport we pushed chairs together to create a bed as we arrived at midnight and our flight want til 5:45am. A very interesting night's sleep with a random dog barking at 3am in our ears. Finally it was time to board the plane for what we had been waiting for... ...

... clear to us she did not approve of such large ships coming to Venice. With much hand waving and the odd word - "disaster" "sinking" & "money", we did not dare tell her that this boat was the reason we were in Venice!!! idea who was meant to get off there because we all exited at the only other
stop – the train station.

My train wasn’t leaving for another hour and a half so I
stood and watched the departure announcements to see which platform I was meant
to be on. Was harassed a couple of times by an old lady begging (she
disappeared into the crowd when the police walked past so it must be illegal ...

... beautiful.

We had to kill about an hour before we were allowed to check in. We ate lunch and walked for a bit. We didn't want to get lost so we didn't wander far. Once we were settled and had a rough game plan in mind, we set off to see Venice without a map.
