    ... traveled a LOT cheaper too, but I didn't want that. I enjoyed it a lot like this.

    Generally I've always tried to look for cheap flights, and I spent a few full days sending personalized couchsurfrequests. It takes some effort, but it's more than worth it! CouchSurfing added so so much to my experience.
