    From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

    ... is more of a first birthday tradition to have a smash cake but we thought it would be fun - and it was!!

    The next day, we went to Mama's work where there was a grand Elmo party. It was great to see everyone. Addy really enjoyed the salami and honey sesame cashews! She also loved the frosting off the cake. There were so many presents! We had clothes, books, a shopping cart, hand-painted personalized Frozen shoes, ...

    ... party on Saturday. It will be a full house! Most of the family Addy has met at least once except she will get to meet my sister and brother's family for the first time. Oh so sweet. I cannot wait - I have missed them so!!! We are doing great and look forward to a fun filled rest of the week. Hope everyone is great too!

    ... The hotel also provides a notebook with pictures of the rooms. They seem to be modern western décor.

    Interesting note: Bonnie and Clyde often stayed in the Stockyards Hotel. There was a bank next door, but Bonnie and Clyde never robbed it. Too close to home, maybe???

    Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk was closed. It’s the largest in the state.

    ... top of the retractable dome is over 300 feet. You could fit the Statue of Liberty on the field, foundation to torch, and you could still close the roof! It’s so enormous, everything you see in it seems dwarfed. The screen inside is the height of a 7-story building. Insane. Anyway, our tour included going inside the Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones’ “perch”, at the 50 yard line, about halfway ...
