    ... all walked around Basel. Not much going on in Basel without taking the tram, but it was a beautiful day for walking around with our newfound friends. We finished weaving through some towns and reached Neuf- Brisach, it's a strange, medieval town built in an octagon shape with massive walls for protection against the Germans apparently in the olden days, very nice though.     ... of the war. There are red and black Nazi swastikas on all the buildings and big, black German military cars in front of them. A few days after these were taken most of the town was destroyed in a huge bombing raid by the Allies.
