... area. Some apparently have flack jackets but those seem too hot for the day time activities. Farmers that were supposed to close the airport are no where in sight. The elections have been a mess. There is no legal government. The leaders of the demonstrators have tarnished political careers marred with allegations that they have been involved in corruption themselves. One wonders if the recent success of the demonstrators in the Ukraine could inspire the Thai ...

... the toilet here was not for the faint hearted though. You had to negotiate your way through to the back of the place through a kitchen - that would definitely fail a health and safety check - and up a cross between a ladder and very steep stairs of highly polished teak - so also very slippery! The toilet's floor was awash with water and very grubby. It was obviously their bathroom too and ...

... leaving shortly. We saw a few couples at brunch.

We returned to the room where I took a short nap while David researched what to do on our first free day at the conclusion of the tour. He decided we were going to take the Sky train to Siam Place: it was about five stops from our stop near our hotel. We got off and walked a short distance until we got to Siam Place. There were outdoor markets surrounding this amazing indoor, very modern mall. ...

... a Chinese girl. The food was delicious and it was nice to chat to the sweet girls who told us about their travels. We may meet up with Rupi in Chiang Mai.
On the way back one of the stall holders invited us to sit in his stall and he told us his story. He was so proud of his son who had been to university in Scotland. He showed us photos of him. He is now doing very well working in banking and has taken his father to England and America. We sat looking at his photos ...

First ride in a tuktuk

... about 70 cents. But the bargaining was just a party of the experience. OH and apparently getting felt up by the women is part of the experience took. Both times I tried on shirts the women selling them "helped" me get dressed and took a quick feelsy. Very weird but we were laughing too much to stop them. We got mojutos, shots and coconut shakes (that came innate actual coconuts) at a magnificent restaurant with bamboo walls and a big waterfall.

It was sunday afternoon when i arrieved at Sukhumvit International Airport, a black limousine is waiting ouside to service me going to my accomodation at the newly openned DoubleTree by Hilton at the centre of Sukhumvit road, Bangkok. Approaching the checkin counter, you will see many smiles from their young and friendly staff, welcoming me with a newly baked cookie to promote their so called 'Cookie' culture. Everyone address you by name as if they knew me for the longest time, in which i must admit makes me feel the hospitability of Thai people. After filling in the guest form, i was escorted going to my room for a good relaxation after hours of travel from Manila airport. The hotel is right beside Hilton Sukhumvit which is set to open in the coming months. Double Tree has 2 outlets, nice food by the way, a fitness centre and a pool. It has almost 200 rooms welcoming every guest with a distinc Hilton culture.
