I have always been fascinated by rail as a means of travel; it's a major and recurrent theme in my ongoing obsession with history. The grand, gloomy roofs of the old stations and the plodding weariness of weaving carriages on metal are somehow so evocative of our collective human journey. Certainly, travel by sea or by air is more incredible, I would say, more expeditious; and rail in comparison is so earthly and arduous. In the elements of water ...

This order of nuns is dying out with those that are left being in their late 70s and 80s. In visiting the Cathedral of Notre Dame we found out that the only Holy door in N America was open. Today we decided to head out to the Olympic Stadium and Botanic Gardens. After breakfast at Tim Hortons we headed down to Saint Laurente to catch the subway. Unfortunately we took a wrong turn and couldn't find it, so we decided to walk. Heading off along Rue Sherbrooke we came to Parc La Fontaine. It was a beautiful day and there were large numbers relaxing and enjoying family time. Also in this park is University of Quebec at Montreal. Michael lived ...

... how good I have it.

Even when perceived hardships plague me, namely losing my phone. I attended the skate demo and had a great time seeing some amazing skateboarding at a very creative, entirely volunteer-built skatepark. The companies gave out free tshirts, socks and stickers and the skaters gave interviews. Good times, but unfortunately as I rode away I found I had not my phone in my pocket. I retraced my ...
