... on the water, but inland, and South of the main town of Fira. VEDEMA is a completely walled, neo-gothic, very magical kingdom which romantically transports the guest into a different time. On our tour of the property, we were shown the wine cave, and made reservations for a wine tasting evening tomorrow at 6:00pm. The Buckner villa was two stories, with viewing decks looking out to the water, and the two larger villas below.... Both with pools and patios. What a charming, ...

Arrival time at our hotel was 9:30am. We're staying at Tholos Resort in Imerovigli, it's cliff side but I think I had under estimated how steep it is to get down to the hotel with all our luggage - thank goodness for concierge... Oh and my strong fiancÚ ;-)

Our room would not be ready until 2pm but we didn't mind at all, we laid by the pool enjoying the incredible view; the ocean as far as you can see, ...

We were glad we had the quads here as it would have been impossible to park a car. We drove back to Fira and realized we didn't take note ...

... We had a 2 p.m. sailing time so took off from our hotel around noon to walk down to Fira and I had decided to walk down the donkey path.

Stopped at an Aussie/English/Greek lady's shop where she paints on fabric to sell. She had some lovely pillows and wine bottle covers. Thought to use them at gifts but at 20 euros apiece, I think they are a lovely gift for ourselves. sorry friends.

... that we experience this town without the thousands of tourists that you would expect. Three thousand of them are supposed to land tomorrow from big cruise ships. To come down to Fira from Oiya you can ride the donkey down, walk down the same path as the donkey or ride the funicular down. Victor walked down the same route as the donkeys. I took the funicular just because I did not want to be run over by the ...
