... we hopped onto a bus that took us to the starting point of our boat ride along the network of canals that flow through the city. It was a beautiful sunny day - perfect! There were about a dozen of us that filled the river boat called "donko bune" and we set off on a quiet peaceful journey along a very picturesque route. ... along the river banks and stopped to listen to a woman playing what looked like a zither. She invited me to come over and run my fingertips over the strings, and even my efforts sounded beautiful. She told us that her instrument was made from Cherry Oak and it had several deep hollows in it, probably to assist the sound, which was just wonderful.

As each bus stopped I ran to ask the driver if the bus went to Saga. Four buses later we were on our way and found that we were less than 7ks from Saga. ... it's easy to miss that depending on where the train stops along the platform, the sun angle, or if somebody has closed the window curtains to block the sun. At night, it's very hard to see the signs from the train. And some of the signs have faded from the sun so you can't read them.
