Its always a little awkward doing this wild camping thing. Its not officially illigal, but its definitely not somethig that parents teach their kids. When jan climbed out the tent this morning, he startled an early morning dog walker who wasnt quite sure what to make of the situation.
We packed up rather quickly after that, and breakfasted on the almighty coco-pops. Om-nom-nom! We never buy this **** at home, but on a bike tour, we can ...

So after planning to get an early start... which again only happened shortly before 10, because actual beds are just so dam comfy, we were on our way direction basel. The original plan was to stay at Annignas place, but seeing she is on holiday, and that basel is acually 90km away, we decided to take it easy. Good thing too, about 2hours into the ride, I start feeling something not right at the back of my foot/calf. ...

... Even my little home town is buzzing on a Sunday morning. We did happen upon a military ceremony of some kind. They had a bugler, lots of French flags and they played the French national Anthem.....wish I could remember the words....Sheryl?? LOL We popped into the Textile Museum but unfortunately it was closing at midday and not reopening until 2pm. The siesta is alive and well in Mulhouse. For €9 we kept going. If you were interested in the history and design ...

... as we couldn't check in until 3 o'clock.......very picturesque area....very French! This is not a tourist town and apart from its car and train museum I don't know that there's much else to do, although they do have a wallpaper museum, a history museum, a fine arts museum, a Lalique museum and a textile museum just to name a few as well as a zoo. We grabbed a baguette for lunch and sat on a bench people watching. Well, to be honest, I didn't get a baguette as I'd ...

... br> The route home to Basel was mainly motorway, but I was able to ride over the Arlberg Pass in Austria which had lots of pretty views.

I stopped in Switzerland at the Lake of Walen where one can see great views of the emerald green lake with the imposing Churfirsten mountains behind - just a beautiful place to stop and rest for a bit.

I arrived home after a 4 1/2 hour ride and was happy to have arrived safely.
