Im Rosengarten Kassel

Well, I missed a post one day and then it grew to two, then three.... I tried to remember each day, but I couldn't.

Some highlights...

We went to a medieval market. It was pretty crowded since it was set up on narrow streets in a village. I did get to try Kartoffelpuffer there. It's a potato pancake fried in oil. Mmmm.

The sun has shone all evening and it doesn’t look like the storm we had all day is coming this way. Turned out better than we had thought it would. Off to bed, it is so quiet out here, no highways or airports. We are parked right next to the washrooms. No one, except me has used the women’s and a couple of men have had showers. It is almost like having an ensuite.

Ok, I have a full day to recap. We woke up earlier than usual to go to school. It was Martin's last day of school and all they do is sit in one class and receive their report cards. The teacher addressed me but not a single word of English was spoken the whole class period. The school, as you can see from the video, is not quite as nice as what you might see in America. A highly work-intensive process is associated with the ropes: Gowda double-threaded each of fifty needles with a piece of thread over two hundred meters long. Lama Ole Nydahl und seine Frau Hannah begegneten 1969 erstmals dem 16. Karmapa, dem Oberhaupt der Karma-Kagyü-Schule. Nach mehreren Lehrjahren in den Himalajas bat dieser sie, die Lehre im Westen zu vermitteln. Seitdem hat Nydahl rund 400 Kagyü-Meditationszentren weltweit gegründet.
